DARKNESS

The darkness comes in slowly,

My eyes do not see the difference.

Then in a moment-a change-

I cannot see.

The shadows are becoming longer

They are gone.

The warmth from the sun lessening

I am chilled.

The comfort and safety so far away

I am frightened.
